Residential Architect/Designer

What we’re looking for
The Residential Architect/Designer is responsible for:
- Contacting and meeting with assigned clients to determine design desires and to present design concepts and detailed designs
- Creating and modifying design concepts and supporting drawings and design documents for kitchen, bath, whole home remodels, or additions
- Scheduling and conducting Site Inspections to record existing conditions and gather the needed dimensions, photos, and information required for effective and efficient design
- Managing the production of “as-built” drawings of existing conditions
- Assisting in the development of project estimates and detailed budgets for projects
- Maintaining a current understanding and knowledge of design principles and applicable building codes in kitchen and bathroom planning, roof planning, addition tie-in points, recommended clearances and distances, appliance configurations, etc., and attending continuing education classes and seminars in industry topics
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the design department’s resource and templates library
- Developing positive, strong, and lasting relationships with architects, engineers, trade contractors, city and county building departments and inspectors, material suppliers, customers, and the public
- Participating in walk-thru of projects with the Estimator, Production Team, Vendors, and Trades and conducting a pre-construction meeting with the Estimator and Production Team to explain all aspects of the project
- Participating in various company and project meetings, as required
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of construction design experience
- 2 or more years of experience in residential remodeling and construction
- Ability to read construction documents written in English
- A degree or certificate in design, architecture, or related field
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in the use of CAD and other technical drawing software and tools
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools and technologies
- Valid California State driver’s license
- Valid Social Security Number
- Able to lift 25 pounds without assistance, and climb a 6-foot ladder without assistance
- Pass a background check and drug screen without incident
