Ways to help out during these challenging times

Here at Talmadge Construction, we recommend two ways we can all help out the local community during this current health crisis and economic downturn.

As a community, we all are doing what we can to support our local small businesses as much as we can, which includes ordering takeout and delivery from local restaurants, purchasing restaurant gift cards, and shopping locally for essentials when needed. We know many local business owners, and they greatly appreciate the ongoing support. And as small business owners ourselves, we encourage everyone to practice social distancing and other safety rules when you do need to go out to shop.

Beyond following shelter-in-place guidelines and safely shopping at local businesses, here are a couple of suggestions for helping out during these tough times:

Donate to help Aptos St. BBQ provide meals to local heroes

Donate to our local heroes by participating in Aptos St. BBQ’s “Buy a Meal for a First Responder/Medical Professional.”  You can purchase a meal for 1, 12, or 24. Each week Aptos St. BBQ selects a new set of heroes to receive their great-tasting meals.

Aptos St. BBQ coordinates with the shifts, so the food gets distributed evenly. In the week we donated, our “24 Hero Pack” donations went to Aptos/La Selva fire stations 1, 2, and 3. Aptos St. BBQ is located near the Talmadge Construction office, and we’ve known them for years.
