Remodeling is something we love to do and now we have the opportunity to expand our Design Department with the addition of Russell Simpkins!
We are excited to welcome Russ to Team Talmadge. Says Russ, “I was drawn to architecture at a very young age. Perhaps it was the endless hours of Lego fun or the challenge of drawing something that existed abstractly in my head. I simply gravitated towards the built environment.”
Graduating from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with a Bachelors of Architecture and a minor in Construction Management, he spent the first leg of his career working for Gensler, one of the largest architecture firms in the world. Although the fierce competition allowed him to hone his skills for design and critical thinking, the corporate environment didn’t quite suit this Santa Cruz native. Returning here to family was the best choice for Russ and, as it turns out, a great opportunity for Talmadge Construction.
Russ joins our fabulous design staff of Architect Danielle Grenier, another Cal Poly graduate and Cynthia Sullivan, who holds a degree in Interior Design from UC Davis. Since coming on board on September 1, we have been delighted with his work, his comfort level with meeting our clients and his easy-going manner in the office. We’ve been dazzled by his renderings and are excited to see where his vision will take us.
